OPTIMAL WRITE SPEED The Optimal Write Speed feature (when enabled) recognizes the disc media and automatically adjusts the drive's write speed, ensuring the highest quality digital file preservation. When this feature is on, the disc writing speed reduces from the fastest possible speed to that which produces the highest quality written disc. To use Optimal Write Speed, turn on the feature through the utility included on the software disc. To enable/disable Optimal Write Speed, follow these instructions: 1. Double-click the DriveUtility.exe file to launch the program. The Drive Utility window appears. 2. Choose the Pioneer DVR-216 drive from the drop-down menu. The DVR-2920Q consists of a Pioneer DVR-216 drive bundled with software from Roxio®. Please ignore any letters or numbers that may appear after the model number. These characters have no affect on this operation. 3. To activate/deactivate the Optimal Writing Speed function, click on the applicable option. Though not required, clicking on the "Saves" check box stores this setting for the drive. Use this option if the drive will be moved between two or more PCs. 4. Click on the "Apply" button at the bottom to activate the option. 5. Verify that the display area (just above the Apply button) shows that the function is turned on or off, whichever is appropriate for your usage. 9 En
