PRV-9000 Operating Instructions 9.2.5 Navi Mark Within DISCNAVI, a thumbnail image of the content represents each title. The default (0 seconds) setting captures the first recorded frame to create the thumbnail. The standard capture point can be changed to a frame at 30 seconds or a frame at three minutes. If the recording session is shorter than the capture point set with the Navi-Mark function, the capture defaults back to 0 seconds for this particular segment. This option also determines where the program's auto-name is taken from: at one minute, three minutes or ten minutes. These settings correspond to the thumbnail captures. Thumbnail capture: 0 seconds - Auto-named at 1 minute Thumbnail capture: 3 0 seconds - Auto-named at 3 minutes Thumbnail capture: 3 minutes - Auto-named at 10 minutes 9.2.6 Start Rec on DVD-R When recording to DVD-R media, press the RECORD button twice to begin recording. Change the setting to Auto (press once) to record in the same manner as with DVD-RW discs. Being as DVD-R media is write-once technology, this feature allows you to verify that the proper type of media (write-once or multi-write) is loaded for the current recording session. Note: In the Auto (press once) setting, the recorder requires up to three seconds to begin recording after the REC button is pressed. 9.2.7 Chapter Interval When recording in Video mode, chapter marks are added every three minutes (default setting). Available settings are as follows: every 3 minutes (default) every 5 minutes every 10 minutes No Separation (function turned OFF) 9.2.8 Remote Control Set If multiple Pioneer DVD recorders are within the same room, set the Remote Control Set function for the number of recorders. So that each remote control corresponds to it's own recorder, set each recorder/remote control pair to a different ID. 113
