Connections & Setup VIDEO p p• UDIO VIDEO OUT VIDEO OUT Lets you connect your TV to external devices with inputs such as VCRs, digital recorders or secondary monitors. Audio/video (composite) cables are used for this connection Important: Digital signals are not available through the VIDEO OUT: (AN7ENNA/CABLE DIGITAL INPUT) and the component inputs (Y, Pb, Pr). Analog signals are available through the VIDEO OUT: (ANTENNA/CABLE ANALOG INPUT), VIDEO IN and S-VIDEO. Front/Side Input Jacks You can use the buttons and jacks on the fromt of your TV to operate many of the TV's features. L AUDIO R VIDEO S-VIDEO S-VIDEO (INPUT) Lets you connect external devices which have S-Video outputs such as: VCRs, DVD players, satellite receivers and cable boxes. When using S-Video, make sure to connect the two audio cables as well as the S-Video connector. • VIDEO Provides composite video connection. The video connector is usually yellow. • AUDIO-L Provides left audio connection. The left audio connector is usually white. • AUDIO-R Provides right audio connection. The right audio connector is usually red. To access the device when using these jacks, press the INPUT button on your• remote until FRNT appears. To access it with the S-Video connection, press INPUT until SFRNT appears. Remember: Use either the S-Video jack or the Video jack with the Audio L and R inputs. You cannot use both Video inputs at the same time. Front/Side Buttons These buttons operate many of the TV's features. Button placement varies per model. Your model has buttons located either on the front or side of the TV. MENU/OK Brings up the Main Menu. When in the menu system, selects highlighted items. CHANNEL -/+ Scans up and down through the current channel list. In the menu system, acts like the down/up arrow button on the remote control. Use to highlight items. VOLUME -/+ Decreases/increases the volume. In the menu system, acts like the left/right arrow button on the remote control and adjusts menu controls. (SENSOR) Receives infrared signals from the remote. POWER Turns the TV on and off. 22 Chapter 1
