OPERATION LED FUNCTION OF CHARGER See Figures 1 and 6, pages 7 - 9. There are two sets of green and red LEDs. The green and red LEDs closest to the 40V battery port will indicate the status of a 40V battery pack and the LEDs closest to the 18V battery port will indicate the status of an 18V battery pack. MODE BATTERY PACK GREEN LED RED LED ACTION POWER Without battery pack OFF Ready to charge battery pack. ON Hot battery pack When battery pack reaches cooled temperature, charger begins charge mode. EVALUATE Cold battery pack OFF When battery pack reaches warmed temperature, charger begins charge mode. Deeply discharged Flashing Charger pre-charges battery until normal voltage is reached, then begins charge mode. ERROR Pack inserted OFF Battery pack or charger error. Fading • Try to repeat the conditions a second time by removing and reinstalling the battery pack. If the LED Error status repeats a second time, try charging a different battery. • If a different battery charges normally, dispose of the pack that received the Error (see your battery pack manual for instructions). • If a different battery also indicates Error, the charger should be replaced. CHARGING Pack inserted FULLY CHARGED Pack inserted STANDBY MODE Pack inserted Flashing ON Fading ON Charging OFF Charging complete OFF Battery pack is fully charged and charger is in standby mode.
