MAINTENANCE STORING THE TRIMMER  Remove the battery pack from the string trimmer before storing.  Clean all foreign material from the trimmer.  Store it in a place that is inaccessible to children.  Keep away from corrosive agents such as garden chemi- cals and de-icing salts. BATTERY PACK REMOVAL AND PREPARATION FOR RECYCLING WARNING: Upon removal, cover the battery pack's terminals with heavy-duty adhesive tape. Do not attempt to destroy or disassemble battery pack or remove any of its components. Lithium-ion and nickel-cadmium batteries must be recycled or disposed of properly. Also, never touch both terminals with metal objects and/or body parts as short circuit may result. Keep away from children. Failure to comply with these warnings could result in fire and/ or serious injury. TROUBLESHOOTING PROBLEM Line will not advance when using the auto-feed head POSSIBLE CAUSE Line is welded to itself. Not enough line on spool. Line is worn too short. Line is tangled on spool. Grass wraps around shaft housing and string head Cutting tall grass at ground level. Motor fails to start when switch Battery is not secure. trigger is depressed Battery is not charged. SOLUTION Lubricate with silicone spray. Install more line. Refer to Line Replacement earlier in this manual. Pull line while pressing button. Remove line from spool and rewind. Refer to Line Replacement earlier in this manual. Cut tall grass from the top down to prevent wrapping. To secure the battery pack, make sure the latches on each side of the battery pack snap into place.
