Adjusting brightness and color Adjusting the exposure manually 1 7 3 Depending on the intensity of the ambient light, your photos may be too bright or dark. In these cases, you can adjust the exposure to get a better photo. Compensating for backlighting 1 When the light source is behind your subject or there is high contrast between your subject and the background, your subject is likely to appear dark in the photo. In this case, set the Auto Contrast Balance (ACB) option. Darker (-) Neutral Brighter (+) 1 In Shooting mode, press [Fn]. 2 Press [w] or [r] to select . 3 Press [e] or [t] to adjust the exposure. 4 Press [MENU/OK] or [Fn]. • Once you adjust the exposure, the setting will remain the same. You may need to change the exposure value to avoid overexposure or underexposure. • If you cannot decide on an appropriate exposure, select AEB (Auto Exposure Bracket). The camera takes photos with different exposures: normal, underexposed, overexposed. (p. 50) Without ACB With ACB 1 In Shooting mode, press [MENU/OK]. 2 Select “ ACB. 3 Press [t]. 4 Press [w] or [r] to select On. • To deactivate, select Off. 5 Press [MENU/OK]. • The ACB feature is always on in the 2 and 7 mode. • This feature is not available when Continuous, Motion Capture, or AEB is in use.
