Manufactured to a high standard, this product will, if used according to these instructions, and properly maintained, give you years of trouble free performance. IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ THESE INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY. NOTE THE SAFE OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS, WARNINGS & CAUTIONS. USE THE PRODUCT CORRECTLY AND WITH CARE FOR THE PURPOSE FOR WHICH IT IS INTENDED. Ensure health & safety, local authority, and general workshop practice regulations are adhered to when using this equipment. ‰ WARNING! Disconnect from air supply before changing accessories or servicing. 9 Maintain the needle scaler in good condition and replace any damaged or worn parts. Use genuine parts only. Unauthorised parts may be dangerous and will invalidate the warranty. ‰ WARNING! Check correct air pressure is maintained and not exceeded. We recommend 90psi. 9 Keep air hose away from heat, oil and sharp edges. Check air hose for wear before each use and ensure that all connections are secure. 9 Only use needles which are specifically designed for use with a needle scaler. 9 Wear approved safety eye/face shield, ear defenders, and hand protection. 9 Maintain correct balance and footing. Ensure the floor is not slippery and wear non-slip shoes. 9 Keep children and non-essential persons away from the working area. 8 DO NOT use the needle scaler for a task it is not designed to perform. ‰ WARNING! DO NOT use needle scaler if damaged or thought to be faulty. (Contact Sealey service agent). 8 DO NOT use needle scaler unless you have been instructed in its use by a qualified person. 8 DO NOT carry the needle scaler by the air hose, or yank the hose from the air supply. 8 DO NOT operate needle scaler if you are tired or under the influence of alcohol, drugs or intoxicating medication. 8 DO NOT carry needle scaler with your hand on the power trigger in order to avoid unintentional starting. 8 DO NOT direct air from the air hose at yourself or others. 9 When not in use disconnect from air supply and store in a safe, dry, childproof location. 2. INTRODUCTION Generation series pistol type scaler suitable for cleaning heavy paint and rust scale from metal surfaces. Removable needle head allows use as a standard air hammer but requires additional chisel set and spring retainer (not included). Features variable speed trigger control. Spring retainer, needle and chisel sets available separately. 3. AIR SUPPLY Ensure needle scaler trigger is not depressed before connecting to the air supply. You will require an air pressure of 90psi, and a minimum air flow of 2.8cfm. WARNING! Ensure the air supply is clean and does not exceed 90psi while operating the needle scaler. Too high an air pressure and unclean air will shorten the product life due to excessive wear, and may be dangerous causing damage and/or personal injury. Drain the air tank daily. Water in the air line will damage the needle scaler. Clean air inlet filter weekly. 4. ASSEMBLY
4.1.
Screw the scaling head fully onto the body as indicated in fig.1.
4.2.
Tighten the 3 grub screws located around the scaling head.
4.3.
AIR SUPPLY
4.3.1.
Ensure needle scaler trigger is not depressed before connecting to the air supply.
