LC-26D6U LC-32D6U LC-37D6U IMPORTANT SERVICE SAFETY PRECAUTION Ë Service work should be performed only by qualified service technicians who are thoroughly familiar with all safety checks and the servicing guidelines which follow: WARNING 1. For continued safety, no modification of any circuit should be attempted. 2. Disconnect AC power before servicing. A V CAUTION: FOR CONTINUED PROTECTION AGAINST A RISK OF FIRE REPLACE ONLY WITH SAME TYPE FUSE. LC-26D6U:F701, F702 (3.15A, 250V) LC-32D6U/LC-37D6U: F701, F702 (5A, 250V) F703 (1A, AC250V), F704 (117°C, 2A) » Use an AC voltmeter having with 5000 ohm per volt, or higher, sensitivity or measure the AC voltage drop across the resistor. » Connect the resistor connection to all exposed metal parts having a return to the chassis (antenna, metal cabinet, screw heads, knobs and control shafts, escutcheon, etc.) and measure the AC voltage drop across the resistor. All checks must be repeated with the AC cord plug connection reversed. (If necessary, a nonpolarized adaptor plug must be used only for the purpose of completing these checks.) Any reading of 0.75 Vrms (this corresponds to 0.5 mA rms AC.) or more is excessive and indicates a potential shock hazard which must be corrected before returning the monitor to the owner. BEFORE RETURNING THE RECEIVER (Fire & Shock Hazard) Before returning the receiver to the user, perform the following safety checks: DVM AC SCALE 1. Inspect all lead dress to make certain that leads are not pinched, and check that hardware is not lodged between the chassis and other metal parts in the 1.5k ohm 10W receiver. 2. Inspect all protective devices such as non-metallic control knobs, insulation materials, cabinet backs, adjustment and compartment covers or shields, isolation resistor-capacitor networks, mechanical 0.15 µF TEST PROBE insulators, etc. 3. To be sure that no shock hazard exists, check for leakage current in the following manner. » Plug the AC cord directly into a 120 volt AC outlet. » Using two clip leads, connect a 1.5k ohm, 10 watt resistor paralleled by a 0.15µF capacitor in series TO EXPOSED METAL PARTS CONNECT TO KNOWN EARTH GROUND with all exposed metal cabinet parts and a known earth ground, such as electrical conduit or electrical ground connected to an earth ground. 11112222333344445555666677778888999900001111222233334444555566667777888899990000111122223333444455556666777788889999000011112222111122223333444455556666777788889999000011112222333344445555666677778888999900001111222233334444555566667777888899990000111122221111222233334444555566667777888899990000111122223333444455556666777788889999000011112222333344445555666677778888999900001111222211112222 SAFETY NOTICE Many electrical and mechanical parts in LCD color and shaded areas in the Replacement Parts List and television have special safety-related characteristics. Schematic Diagrams. These characteristics are often not evident from visual For continued protection, replacement parts must be inspection, nor can protection afforded by them be identical to those used in the original circuit. necessarily increased by using replacement components The use of a substitute replacement parts which do not rated for higher voltage, wattage, etc. have the same safety characteristics as the factory Replacement parts which have these special safety recommended replacement parts shown in this service characteristics are identified in this manual; electrical manual, may create shock, fire or other hazards. 1111c2222o3333m44445555p6666o7777n8888e9999n0000ts11112222h3333a4444v5555in6666g77778888s9999u0000c1111h2222f3333e4444a5555tu6666r7777e8888s9999a0000r1111e2222i1111d2222e3333n4444ti5555fi6666e7777d8888b9999y00001111"2222å33334444"5555666677778888999900001111222233334444555566667777888899990000111122221111222233334444555566667777888899990000111122223333444455556666777788889999000011112222333344445555666677778888999900001111222211112222 5
