PATTERN BALANCE ADJUSTMENT If decorative stitch patterns, letter, numbers or the manual buttonhole are uneven when sewn on a particular fabric, adjust them with the pattern adjustment dial. Use a screwdriver to turn the dial slightly toward the "+" or "–". The pattern adjustment dial normally should be in the horizontal position.
