Troubleshooting Symptom You cannot insert the print cartridge. The PRINT lamp is flashing fast. The PRINT CARTRIDGE lamp is flashing fast. Printing stops mid may, and the PRINT PAPER lamp or the PRINT lamp is flashing fast. You cannot select 9PIC SAME or 9PIC MULTI in the menu settings. The printed image has a black frame. Cause and/or Corrective Actions • If you disconnect the power source such as the battery pack during printing, the platen roller may not move back to the original position. c Install the charged battery pack, set the POWER switch to VTR or MEMORY and open the LCD panel and the printer cover. • The inside of the printer has become too hot. c Leave your camcorder until it cools down, then resume printing images. • The ribbon has run out. c Replace the print cartridge with a new one. (p. 106) • You have left the printer cartridge in high temperature so that the ribbon is damaged. c Replace the print cartridge with a new one. (p. 106) • An error has occured during printing. c Set the POWER switch to OFF (CHARGE) once, and then set it to VTR or MEMORY again. c Charged the battery, and reinstall it. • Print paper is not inserted, and the still image to print is not played back. c Insert print paper, and play back the still image to print. (p. 91, 109) • If you record the image on "Memory Stick" with other equipment other than this unit, the printed image may have a black frame. This is not a malfunction. Others Symptom Cause and/or Corrective Actions The Remote Commander supplied with your camcorder does not work. • COMMANDER is set to OFF in the menu settings. c Set it to ON. (p. 65) • Something is blocking the infrared rays. c Remove the obstacle. • The batteries are inserted in the battery holder with the + - polarities incorrectly matching the + - marks. c Insert the batteries with the correct polarity. (p. 151) • The batteries are dead. c Insert new ones. (p. 151) The picture from a TV or VCR does not appear even when your camcorder is connected to outputs on the TV or VCR. The melody or beep sounds for 5 seconds. • DISPLAY is set to V-OUT/LCD in the menu settings. c Set it to LCD. (p. 65) • Moisture condensation has occurred. c Remove the cassette and leave your camcorder for at least 1 hour to acclimatize. (p. 137) • Some troubles has occurred in your camcorder. c Remove the cassette and insert it again, then operate your camcorder. While charging the battery pack, no indicator appears or the indicator flashes in the display window. 132 • The AC power adaptor is disconnected. c Connect it firmly. (p. 15) • Something is wrong with the battery pack. c Contact your Sony dealer or local authorized Sony service facility.
