Symptom No power. No picture on the LCD or TV (including video from another unit). Cause • The power cord is disconnected. • The battery is discharged, • The video cable is not connected securely. • LCD mode is set to OFF. Correction " Plug the power cord into the wall outlet securely. . Recharge the battery. • Connect the video cable into the jacks securely. " Select an LCD mode other than OFF. • Check that Brightness control is set to minimum, " Adjust the brightness, " The TV is not set to receive DVD signal output, • LINE SELECT IN/OUT switch to IN position. " Select the appropriate video input mode on the TV so the picture from the player appears on the LCD screen. • Slide the switch to OUT positiom No sound, " The equipment connected with the audio cable is not set to receive DVD signal output, . Select the correct input mode of the audio receiver so you can listen to the sound from the DVD player, • The audio cables are not connected securely. • Connect the audio cable into the jacks securely, The DVD player does not start playback, , An unplayable disc is inserted, • The Rating level is set, " Insert a playable disc, (Check the disc type, color system, and Regional code,) . Cancel the Rating function or change the rating level. No response when buttons are pressed. ° Some discs prohibit certain operations.
