Does your TV accept progressive signals? Progressive is the method for displaying TV images which reduces flickering, and sharpens the image. To display using this method, you need to connect to a TV that accepts progressive signals. PROGRESSIVE 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 0 FUNCTION 1 Press FUNCTION repeatedly to select "DVD." 2 Press PROGRESSIVE. The current output signal "-NORMAL-" appears in the front panel display. When "-PROGRE-" appears in the front panel display, the output signal is already set to progressive format. 3 Press PROGRESSIVE again while "-NORMAL-" appears in the front panel display. The output signal is changed to progressive format and "PROGRE" appears in the front panel display. Tip To return the setting to interlace format repeat the procedure above. When the output signal is changed to interlace format, "NORMAL" appears in the front panel display. See page 73 for more information about the different signal types. Notes • If your TV does not accept progressive signals and progressive format is set by mistake, the image may not appear, or will appear distorted. In this case, return the setting to interlace format (the default setting). • If your TV accepts progressive signals, connect COMPONENT VIDEO OUT of the system to the TV using a component video cord (not supplied), and set progressive format. 22GB
