LOW ( ) Records ambient sound faithfully. Select [LOW] when you want to record an exciting and powerful sound in a concert hall, etc. (This setting is not suitable for recording conversations.) AUDIO MODE You can change the recording sound format. 5.1ch SURROUND ( ) Records sound in 5.1ch surround. 2ch STEREO ( ) Records sound in 2ch stereo. OTHER REC SET DIGITAL ZOOM You can select the maximum zoom level. Note that the image quality decreases when you use the digital zoom. The zooming zone appears when you select [120×]. OFF Up to 14× zoom is performed. 120× Up to 120× zoom is performed digitally. Note When [ STEADYSHOT] is set to other than [ACTIVE], up to 10× zoom is performed optically. AUTO BACK LIGHT Your camcorder adjusts the exposure for backlit subjects automatically. ON Adjusts the exposure for backlit subjects automatically. OFF Does not adjust the exposure for backlit subjects. DIAL SETTING You can select an item you want to set to the MANUAL dial. For details, see page 31. NIGHTSHOT LIGHT When using the NightShot (p. 30) function, you can record clearer images by activating [NIGHTSHOT LIGHT], which emits infrared light (invisible). ON Emits infrared light. OFF Does not emit infrared light. Notes Do not cover the infrared port (p. 121) with your fingers or other objects. Remove the conversion lens (sold separately). The maximum shooting distance using [NIGHTSHOT LIGHT] is about 3 m (10 feet). X.V.COLOR You can capture wider range of colors. Various colors such as the brilliant color of flowers and turquoise blue of the sea can be more faithfully reproduced. Refer to the instruction manuals of the TV. OFF Records in ordinary color range.
