Pop-up menu (page 55) An enhanced menu operation available on BD-ROMs. The pop-up menu appears when MENU is pressed during playback, and can be operated while playback is in progress. Progressive signals (page 101, 103) Compared to the Interlace format that alternately shows every other line of an image (field) to create one frame, the Progressive format shows the entire image at once as a single frame. This means that while the Interlace format can show 30 frames/60 fields in one second, the Progressive format can show 60 frames in one second. The overall picture quality increases and still images, text, and horizontal lines appear sharper. Router (page 26) Device that relays data flow from network to network. Routers are usually installed between the Internet and the home network. Some routers are capable of connecting multiple devices to the Internet. Server/client (page 74) In this manual, "client device" refers to devices that receive and play music content on the home network. And, HES-V1000 (this unit) that shares music in response to the client's request, is called "server." SESF (Self-Encoded Stream Format) (page 56) "Self-Encoded Stream Format" is a format defined in the Blu-ray Disc application specification. It contains MPEG-2 transport stream, which is encoded from analog SD (Standard Definition) TV signals or re-encoded from digital SDTV signals or digital broadcast streams.
