The clock or timer setting is canceled. ˎˎThe AC power cord is disconnected or a power failure occurred. Set the clock (page 14) and timer (page 35) again. There is no sound. ˎˎAdjust the volume. ˎˎCheck the connection of the optional equipment, if any (page 12). ˎˎTurn on the connected equipment. ˎˎThere is no audio output available during Recording Timer. There is severe hum or noise. ˎˎMove the system away from sources of noise. ˎˎConnect the system to a different wall outlet. ˎˎInstall a noise filter (commercially available) to the AC power cord. ˎˎTurn off surrounding electrical equipment. The timer does not function. ˎˎCheck the timer setting and set the correct time (page 35). ˎˎCancel the Sleep Timer function (page 35). The remote control does not function. ˎˎRemove the obstacles between the remote control and the unit. ˎˎMove the remote control closer to the unit. ˎˎPoint the remote control at the unit's sensor. ˎˎReplace the batteries (R6/size AA). ˎˎMove the unit away from the fluorescent light. There is acoustic feedback. ˎˎReduce the volume. "CHILD LOCK" appears when you press any button on the unit. ˎˎSet the Child Lock function to off (page 37). Disc player The disc tray does not open and "LOCKED" appears on the display. ˎˎConsult your nearest Sony dealer or local authorized Sony service facility. The disc tray does not close. ˎˎLoad the disc correctly. The disc does not eject. ˎˎYou cannot eject the disc during CD-USB Synchronized Transfer or REC1 Transfer. Press to cancel the transfer, then press on the unit to eject the disc. ˎˎConsult your nearest Sony dealer. Playback does not start. ˎˎReload the disc. ˎˎLoad the disc that this system can play back (page 39). ˎˎWipe the disc clean (page 46). ˎˎRemove the disc and wipe away the moisture on the disc, then leave the system turned on for a few hours until the moisture evaporates. The sound skips. ˎˎWipe the disc clean (page 46). ˎˎReload the disc. ˎˎMove the unit to a place with no vibration (e.g., on top of a stable stand).
