[SETUP 1] Item FILE NUMBER CONVERSION LENS (MVC-CD400 only) Setting xSERIES RESET ON / xOFF HOT SHOE (MVC-CD400 only) / LANGUAGE CONFIRM B. WRITE CLOCK SET ON / xOFF xENGLISH / JPN ON / xOFF OK / CANCEL Description - Assigns numbers to files in sequence even if the disc is changed. - Resets the file numbering each time the disc is changed. Sets to [ON] when using the VCL-MHG07 conversion lens (not supplied). At this time, the zoom or the focus preset function does not work. Also, note that the VAD-S70 adaptor ring needed to mount the conversion lens to your camera is not sold in some countries and regions. Set when using a commercially available external flash. - Displays the menu items, warnings and messages in English. - Displays the menu items, warnings and messages in Japanese. Selects whether to confirm recording or deletion of the image before writing to the disk. Sets the date and time (page 17). When [CONVERSION LENS] is set to [ON] (MVC-CD400 only): • The Scene Selection and Zoom functions are not available. • When the mode dial is set to A or M, you can only select aperture values of F4 or higher. • The focus preset is not available. • Macro shooting is not available. Additional information [SETUP 2] Item LCD BRIGHTNESS LCD BACKLIGHT BEEP VIDEO OUT Setting BRIGHT / xNORMAL / DARK BRIGHT / xNORMAL SHUTTER xON OFF xNTSC PAL Description Selects the LCD brightness. This has no effect on the recorded images. Selects the brightness of the LCD backlight. Selecting [BRIGHT] makes the screen bright and easy to see when using the camera outdoors or in other bright locations, but also uses up the battery charge faster. Displayed only when using your camera with the battery pack. - Turns on the shutter sound. (The shutter sound is heard when you press the shutter button.) - Turns on the beep/shutter sound when you press the control button/shutter button. - Turns off the beep/shutter sound. - Sets the video output signal to NTSC mode (e.g., Japan, USA). - Sets the video output signal to PAL mode (e.g., Europe). 117
