Before opening the system unit, save any open files, exit Windows, turn off the power of the computer and all attached peripherals, and then unplug the power cord. 1 Remove the system cover (see "Removing the System Cover" on page 22). 2 Disconnect any cables attached to the add-in card. 3 Remove the screw that secures the add-in card to the chassis. 4 Remove the add-in card from the PCI slot connector and store the card in an anti-static wrapper for future use. KY0071.VSD  Grasp the card with one hand on each end, and gently pull up as you rock the card from side to side. ! Hold the add-in card by its edges and do not touch any components or connector contacts on the card. Static electricity in your body may damage sensitive components on the card. As a precaution, touch any exposed metal part on the metal chassis (preferably the metal part on the power supply) before handling an add-in card to discharge any static electricity in your body.

Removing an Add-in Card
