Performing the HotSync® operation Note Do not remove the USB cable from your CLIÉ handheld until the HotSync® operation is complete as the Palm™ Desktop for CLIÉ software may not close normally. If the HotSync® operation does not start when you tap the HotSync® icon Make sure that the HotSync icon is displayed in the Windows task tray. If the HotSync icon is not displayed in the task tray, click Start, then select Programs (All Programs in Windows® XP), Sony Handheld and HotSync Manager. Check that the HotSync icon is displayed in the task tray and tap the HotSync icon on the HotSync screen to start the HotSync® operation. The message is displayed on your computer screen when the HotSync® operation starts. * From this point onwards, where Windows XP Home Edition and Windows XP Professional are common, they will both be referred to as Windows XP. Notes • Do not tap the HotSync icon during the HotSync® operation as it may cause errors and the operation may quit. • Do not enter the power saving mode during the HotSync® operation. If your computer is turned to the power saving mode during the HotSync® operation, HotSync Manger will be forced to quit. Note
Do not remove the USB cable from your CLIÉ handheld until the
HotSync

operation is complete as the Palm™ Desktop for CLIÉ
software may not close normally.
If the HotSync
®
operation does not start
when you tap the HotSync
®
icon
Make sure that the HotSync
icon is displayed in the
Windows task tray.
If the HotSync
icon is not displayed in the task tray, click
Start
, then select
Programs

XP),
Sony Handheld
and
HotSync Manager
. Check that
the HotSync
icon is displayed in the task tray and tap the
HotSync
icon on the
HotSync
