The HotSync® operation is a one-step operation that allows you to synchronize data between your CLIÉ handheld and your computer, back up the data on your CLIÉ handheld to your computer or install add-on applications. b For details, refer to "Exchanging and updating data using the HotSync® operation" in "Handbook." Performing the HotSync® operation In this example, connect your CLIÉ handheld to your computer and synchronize data with the Palm™ Desktop for CLIÉ software data on your computer using Date Book. 1 Turn on your computer and start the Windows® operating system. 2 Refer to the procedures on page 45 and enter data in Date Book. 3 Connect your CLIÉ handheld to your computer. 4 Rotate the Jog Dial™ navigator to select [HotSync] icon on the Application Launcher screen and press the Jog Dial™ navigator. Tip You can also tap [HotSync] icon to display the HotSync screen. Continued on next page 43
