Additional Information No sound is output from a Sound Bar/AV amplifier connected to the HDMI OUT 2 jack. • Even when you connect the player to a TV through a Sound Bar/AV amplifier (receiver), the input source may not switch to the player depending on the settings. Check the following. - The HDMI cable is connected to the HDMI OUT 2 jack on the player and the HDMI input jack on the Sound Bar/AV amplifier. Do not connect the cable to the HDMI output jack on the Sound bar/AV amplifier. - The player is selected as the input source on the Sound Bar/AV amplifier. • If the problem persists after checking the above, try the following. - Set [Control for HDMI] in [System Settings] to [Off]. When you set it to [Off], the BRAVIA Sync features are disabled*1. - If the Sound Bar/AV amplifier is connected to an ARC-compatible HDMI input jack on your TV, remove the HDMI cable from the jack. After you disconnect the cable, the Sound Bar/ AV amplifier will no longer output sound from the TV*1. • When you connect the player to a Sound Bar/AV amplifier via the HDMI OUT 2 jack, make sure that [HDMI Audio Output] in [System Settings] is set to [HDMI2] or [Auto] (page 26). The HD Audio (Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby TrueHD, DTS-HD High Resolution Audio, DTS-HD Master Audio, Dolby Atmos*2 and DTS:X*3) is not output by bitstream. • Set [BD Secondary Audio] in [Audio Settings] to [Off] (page 24). • Check that the Sound Bar/AV amplifier (receiver) is compatible with each HD Audio format. The interactive audio is not output. • Set [BD Secondary Audio] in [Audio Settings] to [On] (page 24). Message Code 3 [Audio outputs temporarily muted. Do not adjust the playback volume. USB device The player does not detect a USB device connected to the player. • Make sure that the USB device is securely connected to the USB jack. • Check if the USB device or the USB cable is damaged. • Check if the USB device is turned on. • If the USB device is connected via a USB hub, connect the USB device directly to the player. 29
