english / USA Information Before You Start Fit the carburetor box cover and secure it with the twist lock: Preheated air from around the cylinder is now drawn in along with cold air - this helps prevent carburetor icing. At temperatures below -10°C It is advisable to fit the intake air preheating kit* if you use your saw in extremely cold conditions (temperatures below -10°C, in powder or drifting snow). When fitted, the kit ensures that only heated air is drawn in from around the cylinder. It prevents air filter and carburetor icing. The shutter for carburetor preheating must be in the "winter" position when the intake air preheating kit is fitted. If your saw is very cold (frost or ice on machine), start the engine and keep it at a high idle speed (with chain brake disengaged) until it reaches normal operating temperature. The air filter may load up faster when you use intake air preheating - clean it more frequently. In the event of engine running problems, first check that conditions for use of intake air preheating still apply. At temperatures below -10°C

preheating kit* if you use your saw in
extremely cold conditions (temperatures
below -10°C, in powder or drifting snow).

disengaged) until it reaches normal
operating temperature.

more frequently.
In the event of engine running problems,
first check that conditions for use of
intake air preheating still apply.

To start the engine, move the lever to the
cold start position

force.
