english / USA 6 5 Motor Management Adjusting the Carburetor Exhaust emissions are controlled by the design of the fundamental engine parameters and components (e.g. carburation, ignition, timing and valve or port timing) without the addition of any major hardware. General Information The carburetor comes from the factory with a standard setting. This setting provides an optimum fuel-air mixture under most operating conditions. With this carburetor it is only possible to adjust the engine idle speed within fine limits. 138BA003K : Remove the foam filter element (5) from the front half (6) and clean or replace as necessary. : Knock the two halves of filter out on the palm of your hand or blow them clear with compressed air from the inside outwards. In case of stubborn dirt: : Wash the filter components in STIHL universal cleaner or a clean, non-flammable solution (e.g. warm soapy water) and then dry. Do not use a brush to clean the fleece filter. : Always replace a damaged filter element. : Reinstall the air filter. 44 MS 360 C
