SELECTING THE MTS SYSTEM Make sure ... • You must use the remote control for this procedure. • VCR power must be turned on. • Turn on the TV and set the TV channel to the same video output channel as located on the back of the VCR. (CH 3 or 4) • Press TV/VCR button so that the TV/VCR indicator on the VCR comes on. TO SELECT HIFI MODE 1 Select "VCR SET UP" Press MENU button repeatedly so that the VCR SET UP menu appears. VCR SET VP TAPE SELECT AUTO REPEAT RENTAL AUTO RETURN ALTO/0 CA,T TV STEREO SAP -5130 2 Select "AUDIO OUT" Press PLAY/A. or STOP/V button repeatedly to point to "AUDIO OUT". Then, press F.FWD/110- button. 3 Select "HIFI" Press PLAY/A. or STOP/V button repeatedly to point to "HIFI". AVM OUT - HIFI MONO IONI 4 To return to TV mode Press MENU button. Notes: • Normally, "HIFI" should be selected for playback with HIFI sound. • When you play non-HIFI tapes, VCR play automatically in monaural. • The VCR records automatically MTS broadcasts in HIFI stereo sound. TO SELECT MONO MODE You can change the selection to "MONO" if you want monaural audio playback. 1) Press MENU button repeatedly so that the VCR SET UP menu appears. 2) Press PLAY/A or STOP/V button repeatedly to point to "AUDIO OUT". Then, press F.FWD/I1 button. 3) Press PLAY/A. or STOP/V button repeatedly to point to "MONO". 4) Press MENU button to return to original mode. TO SELECT STEREO OR SAP MODE 1 Select "VCR SET UP" Press MENU button repeatedly so that the VCR SET UP menu appears. VCA SET UP TAPE SELECT AUTO REPEAT RENTAL AUTO RETURN AUDIO OUT TV EREO SAPST -3130 ION1 2 Select "TV STEREO" or "SAP" Press PLAY/A or STOP/V button repeatedly to point to "TV STEREO" or "SAP". Then, press F.FWD/10- button. 3 To return to TV mode Press MENU button. Notes: • You must select the recording mode in TV STEREO or SAP when you record broadcast. Refer to "MTS RECORDING/MONITOR MODE" on previous page. When you play the tape on the VCR later, it will be in stereo or second audio. • If you select second audio when second audio is not available, the VCR will record normal audio. - 16- EN 6105
