11 - Various Other Functions Setting automatic power saving Use the Auto Power Save item to set the amount of time until the unit power turns off after the last user operation or function completes. The options and default value are as follows. Options: OFF, 3Min, 5Min, 10Min, 30Min (default value) CAUTION By default, this is set to turn the unit off automatically after 30 minutes. Set this to "OFF" if you do not want the unit to turn off automatically. NOTE The Auto Power Save Function is disabled under the following conditions. • During recording or playback • When the metronome is in use • When the record function is ON • When a signal is output from the STEREO OUT Setting automatic monitoring Input monitoring is possible when recording is enabled and the transport is stopped. If automatic monitoring is ON, when playback starts, input sounds are muted, and only playback sounds can be monitored. Use the AUTO MONITOR item to set this function. OFF (Default): Input sounds are not muted even when playback starts. When recording is enabled, input and playback sounds are mixed. ON: When playback starts, input sounds are muted. When recording is enabled, only playback sounds can be heard. Setting the song name format Use the Song Name Type item to set the format used for song names created by this unit to WORD (default) or DATE. WORD: The characters set are used for the beginning of the song name. Example (set to "TASCAM"): "TASCAM0001" DATE: The date is used for the beginning of the song name. Example (created on July 10, 2012): "201207100001" 88 Setting the WORD When the Song Name Type on the PREFERENCE screen is set to WORD, press the F4 (t) button to open the setting screen. The length of the word is limited to XX single-byte alphanumeric characters. (See "Editing names" on page 30.) Restoring the initial preference settings You can restore the PREFERENCE screen settings to the initial adjustments (factory default settings). This operation is called initialization. 1. When the recorder is stopped, press the MENU button to open the MENU screen. 2. Use the JOG/DATA dial or the CURSOR (5/b/g/t) buttons to select (green highlight) PREFERENCE, and then press the F4 (t) button. The PREFERENCE screen appears. 3. Use the CURSOR (5/b) buttons to select Initialize, and then press the F4 (t) button. 4. As a confirmation message appears, press the F2 (YES) button to confirm. 5. Once the initialization is completed, the display returns to the PREFERENCE screen. NOTE If you want to cancel the initialization, press the F1 (NO) button. 6. Setting automatic power saving
Use the
Auto Power Save
item to set the amount of time
until the unit power turns off after the last user operation or
function completes.
The options and default value are as follows.
Options: OFF, 3Min, 5Min, 10Min, 30Min (default value)
CAUTION
By default, this is set to turn the unit off automatically after
30 minutes. Set this to “OFF” if you do not want the unit to
turn off automatically.
NOTE
The Auto Power Save Function is disabled under the
following conditions.
During recording or playback
When the metronome is in use
When the record function is ON
When a signal is output from the
STEREO OUT
Setting automatic monitoring
Input monitoring is possible when recording is enabled and the
transport is stopped.
