12 - USB Connections By connecting this unit with a computer using a USB cable, you can power the unit with USB bus power, and use the unit as an SD card reader and as a USB audio interface. Computer Micro-B USB plug USB CAUTION The unit should be connected directly with the computer instead of via a USB hub. Powering the unit with USB bus power When the unit is off 1. Connect the computer and the unit with a USB cable, and turn the unit on to open the USB screen. Using as an SD card reader By connecting this unit with a computer using a USB cable, you can use it as an SD card reader. You can transfer recorded audio files to a computer and also transfer audio files from a computer to the unit. When the unit is off 1. Connect the computer and the unit with a USB cable, and turn the unit on to open the USB screen. 2. Use the + or − button to select SD CARD READER and press the 7 button. The SD CARD READER screen will open. 2. Use the + or - button to select BUS POWER and press the 7 button to select power from the USB port and reopen the Home Screen. When the unit is on When operating on batteries, if you connect the computer and the unit with a USB cable, the unit will be powered from its USB port (USB bus power is used first). NOTE The same thing will also happen when using an AC adapter. When the unit is on When operating on batteries, connect the unit and the computer with a USB cable 1. Press the MENU button to open the MENU screen. 2. Use the + or − button to select USB, and press the 7 button to open the USB screen. 3. Use the + or − button to select (highlight) the SD CARD READER item and press the 7 button. The SD CARD READER screen will open. TASCAM DR-07X 51
