Example of connecting to other equipment Drums Guitar Vocal mic Bass Guitar Headphones Keyboard Tone generator module USB Powered speakers, or amplifier and speakers Computer Drum machine CAUTION • Before making connections, turn this unit and all equipment to be connected off (standby). • The phantom power switches are used in groups of four channels. Do not set the phantom power to +48 when connecting a mic that does not require phantom power. • Do not connect or disconnect mics while phantom power is set to +48. Doing so could cause a loud noise and might damage this unit and connected equipment. • Set the LINE OUT and PHONES knobs to their minimum values before switching the phantom power +48/OFF switch. Failure to do so could cause a sudden loud noise to be generated from the monitoring equipment, and this could damage the equipment or harm hearing. • Supplying phantom power to some ribbon mics will break them. If you are unsure, do not supply phantom power to a ribbon mic. 12 TASCAM US-16x08
