Bandwidth Control

Page 166 highlights

10.2 Bandwidth Control Bandwidth function, allowing you to control the traffic rate and broadcast flow on each port to ensure network in working order, can be implemented on Rate Limit and Storm Control pages. 10.2.1 Storm Control Storm Control function allows the switch to filter broadcast, multicast and UL frame in the network. If the transmission rate of the three kind packets exceeds the set bandwidth, the packets will be automatically discarded to avoid network broadcast storm. Choose the menu QoS→Bandwidth Control→Storm Control to load the following page. Figure 10-11 Storm Control The following entries are displayed on this screen:  Storm Control Config UNIT:1/LAGS: Click 1 to configure the physical ports. Click LAGS to configure the link aggregation groups. Se le ct: Select the desired port for Storm Control configuration. It is multi-optional. Port: Displays the port number of the switch. PPS: Enable or disable the PPS mode. Broadcast Rate Mode: Broadcast: Select the broadcast rate mode, pps mode is invalid if the PPS is disabled.  kbps: Specify the threshold in kbits per second.  ratio: Specify the threshold as a percentage of the bandwidth.  pps: Specify the threshold in packets per second.
