Restriction of TV programs is based on two ratings systems that contain information about the program: the MPAA rating and the TV Parental Guidelines. The MPAA rating is an age restriction. The TV Parental Guidelines give an age restriction and content information. Since a TV program may use either the MPAA rating or the TV Parental Guidelines, both should be used for complete control.
