Connecting your TV Connecting a cable converter box and a VCR With this connection you can: • watch videotapes • watch and record basic and premium cable channels • record one channel while watching the same or another channel Tune the VCR to channel Stereo VCR 3 or 4 (whichever channel is vacant OUT Cable Converter IN Box in your area), place the TV in VIDEO 1 mode, and then use the converter box to change channels. When you use a converter box with your TV, you may not be able to use the remote control to program certain features (for example, blocking channels). The unauthorized recording, use, distribution, or revision of television programs, videotapes, DVDs, and other materials is prohibited under the Copyright Laws of the United States and other countries, and may subject you to civil and criminal liability. Note: To watch satellite programs, the TV must select VIDEO-1 (see page 16). To watch VCR programs, the TV must select VIDEO-2 (see page 16). Connecting a cable converter box and a VCR
With this connection you can:
watch videotapes
watch and record basic and premium cable channels
record one channel while watching the same or another channel
Tune the VCR to channel
3 or 4 (whichever channel is vacant
in your area), place the TV in
VIDEO 1 mode, and then use the
converter box to change channels.
You will need:
one cable signal splitter
four coaxial cables
one pair of audio cables (one single
audio cable for a mono VCR)
one video cable (For video cable type,
see “Note Regarding Picture Quality” on page 7.)
Note:
If you have a mono VCR, connect TV L/Mono Audio IN
to VCR Audio OUT using only one audio cable.
When you use a converter box with your TV, you
may not be able to use the remote control to program
certain features (for example, blocking channels).
