Chapter 10: Appendix How to Obtain Warranty Services If, after following all of the operating instructions in this manual and checking the section "Troubleshooting," you find that service is needed: (1) For instructions on how to obtain warranty service under the TAIS Product Warranty Exchange Program, contact TAIS's Consumer Solutions Center toll free at 1-800-6313811. (2) You must include the original bill of sale (or a copy of the original bill of sale) or other proof of purchase along with the entire Product when sending the Product to the TAIS Warranty Exchange Center specified by TAIS's Consumer Solutions Center. You are responsible for all inbound transportation and insurance charges for the Product to the TAIS Warranty Exchange Center. For additional information, visit TAIS's website: www.support.toshiba.com ALL WARRANTIES IMPLIED BY THE LAW OF ANY STATE OF THE U.S.A., INCLUDING THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ARE EXPRESSLY LIMITED TO THE DURATION OF THE LIMITED WARRANTIES SET FORTH ABOVE. WITH THE EXCEPTION OF ANY WARRANTIES IMPLIED BY THE LAW OF ANY STATE OF THE U.S.A. AS HEREBY LIMITED, THE FOREGOING WARRANTY IS EXCLUSIVE AND IN LIEU OF ALL OTHER WARRANTIES, GUARANTEES, AGREEMENTS, AND SIMILAR OBLIGATIONS OF TAIS WITH RESPECT TO THE REPAIR OR REPLACEMENT OF ANY PARTS. IN NO EVENT SHALL TAIS BE LIABLE FOR CONSEQUENTIAL OR INCIDENTAL DAMAGES (INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, LOST PROFITS, BUSINESS INTERRUPTION, OR MODIFICATION OR ERASURE OF RECORDED DATA CAUSED BY USE, MISUSE OR INABILITY TO USE THIS PRODUCT). No person, agent, distributor, dealer, or company is authorized to change, modify, or extend the terms of these warranties in any manner whatsoever. The time within which an action must be commenced to enforce any obligation of TAIS arising under the warranty or under any statute or law of the United States or any state thereof is hereby limited to ninety (90) days from the date you discover, or should have discovered, the defect. This limitation does not apply to implied warranties arising under state law. THIS WARRANTY GIVES YOU SPECIFIC LEGAL RIGHTS AND YOU MAY ALSO HAVE OTHER RIGHTS WHICH MAY VARY FROM STATE TO STATE IN THE U.S.A. SOME STATES OF THE U.S.A. DO NOT ALLOW LIMITATIONS ON HOW LONG AN IMPLIED WARRANTY LASTS, WHEN AN ACTION MAY BE BROUGHT, OR THE EXCLUSION OR LIMITATION OF INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, SO THE ABOVE PROVISIONS MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU UNDER SUCH CIRCUMSTANCES. 100 Limited Canadian Warranty for Toshiba Brand Flat Panel Televisions Toshiba of Canada Limited ("TCL") makes the following limited warranties to original consumers in Canada. THESE LIMITED WARRANTIES EXTEND TO THE ORIGINAL CONSUMER PURCHASER OR ANY PERSON RECEIVING THIS TOSHIBA BRAND FLAT PANEL TELEVISION (the "TELEVISION(S)" or "Television(s)") AS A GIFT FROM THE ORIGINAL CONSUMER PURCHASER AND TO NO OTHER PURCHASER OR TRANSFEREE. TELEVISIONS PURCHASED IN CANADA, AND USED ANYWHERE OUTSIDE OF CANADA INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, THE UNITED STATES AND MEXICO, ARE NOT COVERED BY THESE WARRANTIES. TELEVISIONS PURCHASED ANYWHERE OUTSIDE OF CANADA, INCLUDING, WITHOUT LIMITATION, THE UNITED STATES AND MEXICO, AND USED IN CANADA, ARE NOT COVERED BY THESE WARRANTIES. Limited One (1) Year Warranty on Parts and Labour TCL warrants the Television and its parts against material defects in materials or workmanship that result in the Television failing for a period of one (1) year after the date of original retail purchase. DURING THIS PERIOD, TCL WILL, AT TCL'S SOLE OPTION, REPAIR OR REPLACE A DEFECTIVE PART WITH A NEW OR RECERTIFIED PART WITHOUT CHARGE TO YOU FOR PARTS OR LABOUR. Rental Units The warranty for Television rental units begins with the date of first rental or thirty (30) days from the date of shipment to the rental firm, whichever comes first. Your Responsibility Read the Owner's Manual thoroughly before operating this LCD Television. Register your LCD Television online at http:// support.toshiba.ca/warranty/. Registration of your LCD Television will enable TCL to contact you in the unlikely event of a product safety notice. Failure to complete the product registration does not diminish your warranty rights. THE ABOVE WARRANTIES ARE SUBJECT TO THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS: (1) You must provide your bill of sale or other proof of purchase. (2) All warranty servicing of this Television must be performed by a Toshiba Authorized Service Provider (ASP). (3) The warranties from TCL are effective only if the Television is (i) purchased as new and unopened from TCL or from TCL's authorized distributors, dealers or resellers ("ADR's") and (ii) located/operated in Canada. (4) Removal and reinstallation of product that is mounted in such a manner as to impede normal service is not covered under these warranties.
