Getting Started 31 Charging the battery ❖ Is unlit when the battery has discharged, the battery is not charging, or the AC adaptor is not plugged into the device or AC outlet ❖ Flashes amber when the battery charge is low and it is time to recharge the battery or plug in the AC adaptor Charging the battery Your device contains a rechargeable battery that may need to be charged prior to use. To use external power or to charge the battery you must attach the AC adaptor. See "Connecting to a power source" on page 29. To charge the battery, leave the device plugged into an AC power source with the device turned off until the battery light glows white. After that, the battery will be completely charged and ready to power the device. Once the battery is charged for the first time, avoid leaving the device plugged in and turned off for more than a few hours at a time. Continuing to charge a fully charged battery can damage the battery. TECHNICAL NOTE: The recharging of the battery cannot occur when your device is using all of the power provided by the AC adaptor to run applications, features, and external devices. NOTE Battery life and charge time may vary depending on the external conditions, or the applications and features used. NOTE Please handle your device carefully to avoid scratching or damaging the surface.
