Setting Up the dynadock 4K docking station and Connecting Peripherals 23 NOTE The DVI, HDMI™, or DisplayPort™ cable provides digital communication between the display and computer, while the VGA cable provides analog communication. If your display has a DVI, HDMI™, or DisplayPort™ port, use the DVI, HDMI™, or DisplayPort™ cable to obtain finer resolution options. NOTE The display cable can be connected/disconnected at any time without disconnecting the dynadock 4K docking station from your computer. NOTE If no output is seen on the display connected to the dynadock 4K docking station, the current video resolution setting may not be supported by the display. This can happen if the display does not report its supported modes to the dynadock 4K docking station's video component. Adjust the resolution of the external display until an image appears. For more information, see "Using the TOSHIBA dynadock 4K Utility" on page 27. Connecting to a network Connect one end of a network cable (not provided) to the Network port (RJ-45) on the dynadock 4K docking station and the other end to your network. If the network is not automatically connected, configure the network properties of the Ethernet adaptor as follows: ❖ In Windows® 7, click Start, Control Panel, Network and Sharing Center, and then Change adapter setting. ❖ In Windows 8.1, from the Start screen, begin typing Control Panel. Click Control Panel, Under "Network and Internet," View network status and tasks, and then Change adapter settings. In the Network Connections folder, double-click the Connection icon for the dynadock 4K docking station's Ethernet adaptor, which is indicated by dynadock. This opens the Local Area Connection Properties window, allowing you to configure the network settings as required according to your network environment. If you are unsure

The DVI, HDMI™, or DisplayPort™ cable provides digital
communication between the display and computer, while
the VGA cable provides analog communication. If your
display has a DVI, HDMI™, or DisplayPort™ port, use the
DVI, HDMI™, or DisplayPort™ cable to obtain finer
resolution options.
The display cable can be connected/disconnected at any
time without disconnecting the dynadock 4K docking
station from your computer.
If no output is seen on the display connected to the
dynadock 4K docking station, the current video

This can happen if the display does not report its

Connecting to a network
Connect one end of a network cable (not provided) to the
Network port (RJ-45) on the dynadock 4K docking station
and the other end to your network.
If the network is not automatically connected, configure the
network properties of the Ethernet adaptor as follows:
