L40 Series Features Panel Power Off/On Low Battery Automatic Hibernation Hibernation Sleep This feature turns off the computer when the display panel is closed and turns it back on when the panel is opened. You can specify the setting in the Power Options. When battery power is exhausted to the point that computer operation cannot be continued, the system automatically enters Hibernation Mode and shuts itself down. You can specify the setting in the Power Options. This feature lets you turn off your computer without exiting from your software. The contents of the main memory are saved to the hard disk. When you turn on your computer again, you can continue working right where you left off. In Sleep Mode, the system's power remains on, but the processor and all other devices are effectively in 'sleep mode'. When the computer is in Sleep Mode, the Power LED flashes amber. The computer enters Sleep Mode regardless of the Hibernate Mode setting. ■ Before entering Sleep mode, make sure to save your data. ■ Do not install or remove a memory module while the computer is in Sleep mode. The computer or the module could be damaged. ■ Do not remove the battery pack while the computer is in Sleep mode. Data in memory will be lost. Frame dropping, audio skipping, or out-of-synch audio and video may occur during playback of some DVD Video titles. Make sure to connect the computer's AC adapter when playing a DVD video. Utilities and Applications
This section describes pre-installed utilities and tells how to start them. For
details on operations, refer to each utility’s online manual, help files, or
readme.txt files.
Panel Power Off/On
This feature turns off the computer when the
display panel is closed and turns it back on when
the panel is opened. You can specify the setting in
the
Power Options
.
Low Battery
Automatic
Hibernation
When battery power is exhausted to the point that
computer operation cannot be continued, the
system automatically enters Hibernation Mode
and shuts itself down. You can specify the setting
in the
Power Options
.
Hibernation
This feature lets you turn off your computer
without exiting from your software. The contents
of the main memory are saved to the hard disk.
When you turn on your computer again, you can
continue working right where you left off.
Sleep
In Sleep Mode, the system’s power remains on,

effectively in ‘sleep mode’. When the computer is
