Using the Timer Shutting down the gigabeat® after a set time (sleep) 103 The countdown timer is set and the countdown begins. To stop the countdown, press the Enter button again. To restart the countdown, press the Enter button again. When the countdown reaches 0 (zero), the timeout notification screen is displayed. The gigabeat® stops any music that is being played and sounds the alarm. 8 Press the Enter or Back button to stop the alarm. NOTE ❖ You cannot record while the countdown is running. ❖ Turning the gigabeat® off during a countdown cancels the countdown. ❖ To check the countdown time after viewing another screen, perform steps 1 through 6 above. ❖ The alarm stops after approximately 1 minute. Shutting down the gigabeat® after a set time (sleep) You can use the timer to have the gigabeat® to shut itself down after a specified time. However, if you have already set 5 minutes as the Auto Power Off setting, the gigabeat® will turn off after approximately 5 minutes if it is not used. 1 Press and hold the Back button until the main menu is displayed (about 1 second). 2 Press the Up or Down button to select Timer. The Timer menu screen is displayed. 4 Use the Up or Down button to select Sleep.
