Recording 85 Recording music from other audio equipment NOTE ❖ To play a recorded file, see "Playing recorded tracks". ❖ You can record up to 1,000 files, including line-in recordings, transferred music files and transferred photos. ❖ You can edit the track names after the recordings have been made. ❖ During recording, do not press the Reset button until you have pressed the Enter button and the clock icon is no longer displayed. Pressing the Reset button too quickly may prevent the recording file from being saved correctly. Recording music from other audio equipment You can use the gigabeat® to record music played on other audio equipment such as CD or MD players. Recording split tracks automatically using Auto-Sync The gigabeat® default setting is to record using Auto-Sync. Auto-Sync is a feature that starts recording when the gigabeat® detects sound from the audio equipment and pauses recording when sound is no longer detected, or starts recording the next detected sound as a new track. This enables the gigabeat® to record an album with each of the tracks automatically recorded as a separate file.
