BASICS Adjusting the Handset Ringer, Earpiece and Speaker Volume Handset ringer volume Press the volume up key or volume down key (labeled as / vol/∧ or /vol/∨ in standby mode to select one of three ringer volume (off, low, or high). Earpiece and speaker volume Pressing the volume up key or volume down key (labeled as /vol/∧ or /vol/∨ key) during a call will change the earpiece volume of the handset. This setting will remain in effect after the telephone call has ended. When you press volume up key (ring/vol/∧) in the maximum volume level or volume down key (ring/vol/∨) in the lowest volume level, an error tone sounds. Do Not Disturb (DND) DND allows you to mute the ringer of the handset and the base at once. Additionally, if you have more than one handset, ringer for all handsets will be muted. To do this, In the standby mode, press and hold do not disturb on the base. You will hear a confirmation tone and the DND LED right. To cancel ringer mute, press do not disturb again. You can also mute the ringer tone while the phone is ringing by pressing do not disturb on the base. note •Standby Mode - The handset is not in use and talk/flash has not been pressed. •Setting the DND to on while the answering system off, turns the Answering system on automatically. The Answering system setting will return to the original setting when you cancel the DND. •If you press ans on/ off when the DND and the answering system is on, both of the DND and the answering system will turn off. To mute the ringer tone for each handset or the base temporarily, when the phone is ringing: - Press end on a handset, or - Press play/stop on the base. Adjusting the Handset Ringer, Earpiece and
Speaker Volume
Handset ringer volume
Press the volume up key or volume down key (labeled as
/
vol/
or
/vol/
in standby mode to select one of three
ringer volume (off, low, or high).
Earpiece and speaker volume
Pressing the volume up key or volume down key (labeled as
/vol/
or
/vol/
key) during a call will change the
earpiece volume of the handset. This setting will remain in
effect after the telephone call has ended.
When you press volume up key (

Do Not Disturb (DND)
DND allows you to mute the ringer of the handset and the base at once. Additionally, if you
have more than one handset, ringer for all handsets will be muted. To do this, In the
standby mode, press and hold
do not disturb
on the base. You will hear a confirmation tone

DND
LED right. To cancel ringer mute, press
do not disturb
again. You can also mute
the ringer tone while the phone is ringing by pressing

on the base.

The ringer tone will return to the previous setting starting with the next incoming call.
Standby Mode
- The
handset is not in use
and

has
not been pressed.
•Setting the DND to on

the DND.
