Answering an Intercom Page When the intercom page tone sounds, the display will show the ID of the handset that is paging. ) Press [ /Flash] or [Clear/Int'com]. If AutoTalk is on, the handset will automatically answer the page when you pick up the handset from the cradle. 2) To hang up an intercom call, press [ ]. Muting the Ringer (One call only) While the phone is ringing, press [ ] to mute the ringer for this call. The phone will ring again on the next call. Muting the Microphone Mute turns off the microphone so the caller can't hear you. This only works while you are on a call. ) Press [ /Mute]. Seven-Digit Dialing In some areas, the telephone company may allow you to place a local call by dialing only seven digits (instead of ten). If this is the case in your area, you can program your local area code in your phone. Programming your area code will allow you to see the caller's seven-digit phone number which will allow you to easily return the local call without modifying the number before dialing. If you get a call from outside your area code, you will see all ten digits. To program your local area code: ) Press [Menu/Select]. Select the GLOBAL SETUP menu, and then the AREA CODE submenu. 2) Use the number keypad ([0] through [9]) to enter a three-digit area code. If an area code has already been stored, it appears in the display. Press [Clear/Int'com] to delete the stored code, and then enter a new one. 3) Press [Menu/Select]. You will hear a confirmation tone. Note: If you have multiple bases, select the base before programming the area code (see page 21). 38

Seven-Digit Dialing

To program your local area code:
