Troubleshooting Troubleshooting Common Issues If your phone is not performing to your expectations, please try these simple steps first. If these steps do not solve your problem, please call our Customer Hotline (see the back cover for contact information). When you have this problem... The charge LED won't illuminate when the cordless handset is placed in the cradle. The audio sounds weak. No stations can make or receive calls. A single cordless handset can't make or receive calls (but other stations can). Try... • Checking the AC adapter connection (see page 7). • Re-seating the cordless handset in the cradle. • Cleaning the charging contacts on the handsets (see page 53). • Moving the cordless handset closer to the base. • Moving the handset and/or base away from metal objects or appliances and try again. • Checking the telephone cord connection. If CHECK TEL LINE appears on the base display, the telephone cord may not be connected correctly (see page 9). • Disconnecting the base AC adapter. Wait a few minutes, then reconnect it (see page 8). • Changing the dial mode (see page 11). • Checking the battery pack connection (see page 6). • Charging the battery for 15 to 20 hours. • Moving the cordless handset closer to the base. • Making sure the line is not in use. If an outside call is already using a line, you . cannot use that line to make another outside call. • Resetting the handset (see page 56). 54
