Even when the battery pack is not being used, it will gradually discharge over a long period. For optimum performance, be sure to return the handset to the base unit after a telephone call for charging the battery. Rechargeable batteries have a memory effect that reduces standby and talk time. To avoid this memory effect, on a monthly basis, use the phone until the Battery lamp blinks.
