Flash and Call Waiting If you have Call Waiting service and a call waiting tone sounds while you are on a call, press talk/flash (or flash on the base) to accept the waiting call. There is a short pause, then you will hear the new caller. To return to the original caller, press talk/flash (or flash on the base) again. New Message LED The New Message LED on the handset is designed to work with your answering system. The LED flashes when you have new messages in your answering system. The LED stops flashing when all new messages are played back (see "Using your Answering System" on page 47). You must subscribe through your local telephone company to receive Call Waiting Service.
