Temporary ringer silencing When the telephone is ringing, you can temporarily silence the ringer of the handset without disconnecting the call. The next call rings normally at the preset volume. To silence the handset ringer: • Press OFF or MUTE on the handset and it displays Ringer muted and . NOTES • Each handset and the base ring when there is an incoming call unless the ringer volume of that device is turned off. • You can also press /VOL/ on the base unit to adjust the ringer volume. The adjustment will be saved and applied to the next incoming call. Quiet mode You can turn on the quiet mode for a period of time (1-12 hours). During this period, all tones (except paging tone) are muted. 1. Press and hold ) when the handset is not in use. 2. The handset displays Quiet: _ _ hours.
