Table 117 Unfused Image Troubleshooting Procedure (cont'd.) Step Actions and Questions Yes 6 FUSER INSPECTION 1. Open the Exit Assembly. Go to Step 7. Warning: If the printer has been powered ON, the Fuser will be hot. Use extreme care when handling the Fuser. 2. Remove the Fuser Assembly. 3. Turn the Fuser Assembly upside down. 4. Rotate the fuser idler gear manually and inspect the Heat Roller. 5. Turn the Fuser Assembly right side up. 6. Open the fuse jam access cover. 7. Rotate the fuser idler gear manually and inspect the Pressure Roller. Are the Heat and Pressure Rollers free of scratches (damage) and contamination? 7 "YES" FROM STEP 6 ABOVE Go to 1. Open the fuser jam access cover. Step 8. 2. Rotate the fuser idler gear manually and inspect the contact between the Heat Roller and the Pressure Roller along the rotation. Do the Heat and Pressure Rollers contact each other uniformly? 8 SUSPECT COMPONENTS The following printer components and areas are associated with this specific problem. One or more of these components or areas may have failed partially or completely. If you cannot isolate this problem using the steps in this Repair Analysis Procedure, replace each component or troubleshoot each area listed below, one at a time, until you isolate and solve the problem.
