It will guide you in operating your YAMAHA product. This Owner's Manual covers two models of tape deck, KXW-S70 and KX-S90. So please check the model name of your tape deck and use this owner's manual effectively excluding unnecessary information. For U.K. and European customers, the speaker system NX-S70 is optional in some areas. If your system does not include NXS70, its information on this manual is not also needed. Keep it in a safe place for future reference. s [Except for U.K. and Europe models]: This system is equipped with the newly developed Active Servo Processing Speaker System. It is not designed for use with conventional speakers. Therefore, do not attempt to connect other speakers than the provided speaker system. s Choose the installation location of this unit carefully. Avoid placing it in direct sunlight or close to a source of heat. Also avoid locations subject to vibration and excessive dust, heat, cold or moisture. Keep it away from sources of hum such as transformers and electric motors. s Do not operate this unit upside-down. It may overheat, possibly causing damage. s Never open the cabinet. If something drops into the set, contact your dealer s The openings on the cabinet assure proper ventilation of the unit. If these openings are obstructed, the temperature inside the cabinet will rise rapidly and eventually damage the circuits. Therefore, avoid placing objects against these openings and do not install the unit where the flow of air through the ventilation openings could be impeded. s Always set the VOLUME control to "0" before starting the audio source play: increase the volume gradually to an appropriate level after the play has been started. s When not planning to use this unit for long periods of time (ie., vacation, etc.), disconnect the AC power plug from the wall outlet. 2
