Playing the EZ-AG When you're set up and ready, turn on the power and play! Power On & Play 1 Turn on the power. With the AC power adaptor connected or with batteries installed, simply press the power switch until it locks in the ON position. When the instrument is not in use, be sure to turn the power off. (Press the switch again so that it pops up.). The "YAMAHA" name will scroll across the EZ-AG frets when the power is turned on. You can stop this by simply pressing any fret. • Make sure that external amplification gear is off when turning the EZ-AG power on or off. • A very small amount of power is used by the EZ-AG when the [STANDBY/ON] switch is in the STANDBY position. Be sure to remove the batteries or unplug the AC Power Adaptor if you will not be using the EZ-AG for an extended period of time. Adjust the Overall Volume While playing the EZ-AG strings, adjust the instrument's volume for the desired overall listening level. 1) Press the [VOLUME] button once or twice so that "uoL" appears on the display. "uoL" will show on the display while the [VOLUME] button is held, then the current volume setting will appear when the button is released. PLAY MODE 1 2 3 STRUM CHORD BOTH START/STOP START/STOP START/STOP DEMO START/STOP SOUND SELECT SONG SELECT VALUE RESET uoL TEMPO CAPO VOLUME TUNING "uoL" will appear on the display. 2) Use the VALUE [+] and [-] buttons to set the desired volume level. PLAY MODE 1 2 3 STRUM CHORD BOTH START/STOP START/STOP START/STOP DEMO START/STOP SOUND SELECT SONG SELECT VALUE RESET 7 TEMPO CAPO VOLUME TUNING • Default volume can be restored by pressing both [+]/[-] buttons simultaneously. 2 Play chords. Form a chord with your left hand (frets you press up to the sixth fret will glow red), then play the strings with your right hand. • Strings that are sounding can be muted by touching the bridge plate with the edge or heel of your right hand. Be sure to touch the plate on the back of the neck with your left hand while touching the bridge plate with your right hand. 12 EZ-AG • The sensitivity of the mute sensor will vary according to the player and ambient humidity. If muting does not seem to be working properly try touching the mute plate with the palm of your hand to increase the area of contact. 10
