Starting Up Inserting a battery 1. Open the battery cover. 2. Insert the included alkaline battery. 3. Close the battery cover. "AA/LR6" alkaline battery x1 Note: · You can use a AA-size nickel-metal hydride battery. However, you cannot charge the nickel-metal hydride battery using the unit. WARNING · Use the battery at an ambient temperature of 5 to 35 degrees Celsius (41 to 95 degrees Fahrenheit). In particular, do not leave the recorder or the battery in a car. CAUTION · When you replace the battery, be sure to first turn off the power to the unit. Otherwise, a malfunction or damage to the data may occur. POWER Turning the power on or off Turning the power on Press the [POWER] button. Turning the power off Press and hold down the [POWER] button for at least two seconds while the recorder is stopped.
