TROUBLESHOOTING Refer to the chart below when this unit does not function properly. If the problem you are experiencing is not listed below or if the instruction below does not help, set this unit to the standby mode, disconnect the power cord, and contact the nearest authorized YAMAHA dealer or service center. below or if the instruction below does not help, set this unit to the standby mode, disconnect the power cord, and

General
Problem
This unit fails to turn
on when STANDBY/
ON (or SYSTEM
POWER) is pressed,
or enters in the
standby mode soon
after the power has
been turned on.
No sound.
The picture does not
appear.
Cause
The power cord is not connected or the
plug is not completely inserted.
The IMPEDANCE SELECTOR switch
on the rear panel is not fully set to either
the left or right position.
The protection circuitry has been
activated.
This unit has been exposed to a strong
external electric shock (such as lightning
and strong static electricity).
Incorrect input or output cable
connections.
An appropriate input source has not been
selected.
The speaker connections are not secure.
The main speakers to be used have not
been selected properly.
The volume is turned down.
The sound is muted.
Digital signals which this unit cannot
reproduce are being input to this unit by
playing a CD-ROM, etc.
The output and input for the picture are
connected to different types of video
jacks.
Remedy
Firmly connect the power cord.

this unit is in the standby mode.
