Chapter 8 Basic Setting 8.6.1 IP Interfaces The Switch needs an IP address for it to be managed over the network. The factory default IP address is 192.168.1.1. The subnet mask specifies the network number portion of an IP address. The factory default subnet mask is 255.255.255.0. Configure IP addresses for accessing and managing the Switch from the ports belonging to the pre-defined VLAN(s). See Table 102 on page 283 for how many IP addresses you can configure. Figure 35 Basic Setting > IP Setup The following table describes the labels in this screen. Table 10 Basic Setting > IP Setup LABEL DESCRIPTION Domain DNS (Domain Name System) is for mapping a domain name to its Name Server corresponding IP address and vice versa. Enter a domain name server IP address in order to be able to use a domain name instead of an IP address. Default Management IP Address Configure the fields to set the default management IP address.
