MANAGED 8-PORT 10/100 + 2 G DUAL PERSONALITY SWITCH This menu allows the user to Enable/Disable IGMP Snooping, IGMP Query, and IGMP VLAN. Parameter IGMP Snooping IGMP VLAN Mode IGMP VLAN Description Use this to enable or disable IGMP snooping, forwarding group multicast traffic only to ports that are members of that group. Auto: the Switch learns multicast group membership information of any VLANs automatically. Fixed: the Switch only learns multicast group membership information of the VLAN(s) that you specify below. Remove: User can remove VLAN multicast group. You can check all the configurations you set in the below IGMP Status table. 2.11.2 IGMP Groups Status This window will display the IGMP group status of the port members if IGMP traffic is present. 2.11.3 IGMP Snooping Configuration Example The Switch MAC Table of MES2110 base on the SVL (Shard VLAN Learning) structure. Therefore, in order to allow each VLAN client to only receive multicast packets that is identical to its VLAN ID, we have to use the stricter VLAN Configuration(Cisco Rule), which has the three following rules: 1. Each port can be under only a single VLAN Access Port (Untagging) 2. Each port can be under multiple VLAN Trunk Port (Tagging) 3. The PVID of Access Port (Untagging) must be identical to its VLAN Scenario 28
