CHAPTER 21 Sharing a USB Printer This chapter describes how you can share a USB printer via your ZyXEL Device. 21.1 Overview The ZyXEL Device allows you to share a USB printer on your LAN. You can do this by connecting a USB printer to one of the USB ports on the ZyXEL Device and then allowing the computers connected to your network to communicate with the print server (ZyXEL Device) using the Internet Printing Protocol. Figure 122 Sharing a USB Printer 21.1.1 What You Can Do in this chapter • The Print Server screen lets you enable the print server on the ZyXEL Device. (Section 21.4 on page 246). • This chapter also shows you examples of adding a new network printer using Windows (Section 21.5 on page 247) and adding a new network printer using Macintosh OS X (Section 21.6 on page 251). 21.2 What You Need to Know Print Server This is a computer or other device which manages one or more printers, and which sends print jobs to each printer from the computer itself or other devices.
