Installing the Utility

This chapter guides you through the installation of the configuration utility for your PLA.

3.1

Windows

This section uses the Windows XP screens as an example to show you how to install the Windows vesion

of the

Zyxel PLA Series Configuration

utility.

3.1.1

System Requirements

At the time of writing, the


utility is compatible with:

•

Windows XP (32-bit version)

•

Windows XP (64-bit version)

•

Windows Vista (32-bit version)

•

Windows Vista (64-bit version)

•

Windows 7 (32-bit version)

Note: To check for your Windows operating system version, right-click on

My Computer >

Properties

. You should see this information in the

General

tab.

Microsoft’s .NET Framework version 4 and WinPcap 4.1.3 software are necessary for the installation of the


utility. The utility automatically installs WinPcap 4.1.3 and .NET Framework

version 4 on all supported operating systems (if it’s not already installed on your computer).

3.1.2

Installing the Utility

Follow the steps below to install WinPcap 4.1.3, .NET Framework version 4 and the

Zyxel PLA Series

Configuration

utility

on your computer.

Go to the Zyxel Download Library and download the utility to your computer.

Double click the utility

setup.exe

file.

If WinPcap 4.1.3 is already installed on your computer, the following screen appears. Click

Cancel

and

go to step
